藝術(shù)家葉永青出生于1958年，畢業(yè)于四川美術(shù)學(xué)院油畫系。
踏遍100多個(gè)國(guó)家城市，葉永青寬廣的國(guó)際視野成就了他作品如游牧者般閑云野鶴的氣質(zhì)，看似輕，實(shí)則富含重量的藝術(shù)創(chuàng)作。 葉永青在1990年對(duì)當(dāng)下社會(huì)作出的內(nèi)心凝視，自我幻想中的飛鳥與巨蛇大量襲擊而至，將整個(gè)時(shí)代的氛圍由畫面中躍起。自由思想與時(shí)下社會(huì)的文化沖擊，葉永青進(jìn)而開始各種嘗試與改變，葉永青使用西方繪畫媒材，運(yùn)用中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)水墨畫中的筆墨、暈染，結(jié)合版畫的色彩與圖式，突破了文化、地域、民族在符號(hào)和材料上的局限。展覽足跡遍及美國(guó), 德國(guó), 捷克, 英國(guó)各大美術(shù)館與博物館. 在此次臺(tái)北的驛站中我們引頸期待藝術(shù)加葉永青這輕且重的藝術(shù)創(chuàng)作。

Ye Yongqing was born in 1958 and graduated from the Oil Painting Department, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 1982.
The works of Ye Yongqing can be seen with light and softness, but the concept behind the canvas is built up with layers and layers of the artist’s experiences. The experiences of travelling in nearly hundreds of different countries, Ye Yongqing developed a global perspective and the world of nature and country life had strongly influenced his works. In 1990, the creation of Ye Yongqing was influenced by the notion of societies and culture shock at the moment. The metaphor of the culture shock to Ye Yongqing is like a flying bird and a monster snake that attacks speedy without noticing. This imagery brings the atmosphere of the era so vibrant from the canvas to the real world. Yet, the contrary of the free imaginary world and the culture shock influenced Ye Yongqing to create in different aspects and techniques such as using western painting materials, traditional Chinese painting materials, creating gradation, using block printing colors and imagery etc. The new creation however, was a breakthrough of the limit in our culture, region and race.
His exhibitions can be seen in art galleries and Museums all over the world such as United States, Germany, Czech Republic, and England etc.
