Born in Guiyang, Guizhou Province
1992 Completed courses at Beijing Central Fine Arts Academy Fresco
Department Advanced Research Class.
Now serving at the Guiyang Municipal Federation of Art and Literature, and resident artist at the Guiyang Painting and Calligraphy Institute.
He is on the board of directors at the Guizhou Provincial Fine Arts Association, secretary of the Guizhou Provincial Engraving Council, permanent board member at the Guiyang City Artists Association, and the vice-chairman and secretary of the Guiyang Municipal Oil Painting Research Association.

COLLECTIONS
Many works have been collected by the Shanghai Fine Art Gallery, Beijing Central Fine Arts Academy Gallery, Shanghai Fine Artists Association, Indonesia YuDeyao Foundation and by personal collectors. His writings and art have been seen in Jiangsu Pictorial, Art World and Mountain Flowers. He has also published Facing the Mountains: Works of Dong Zhong.
梅花和動物是繪畫史上的一個經(jīng)常性題材。董重的新作又回到了這個傳統(tǒng)的形象載體。但這個經(jīng)典題材被賦予了一種實驗性的繪畫語言的改造。他的繪畫尋求一種對于傳統(tǒng)花鳥畫的觀念和內(nèi)在性的吸收，并試圖融入一種現(xiàn)代性的形式特征和自我經(jīng)驗。
……
與花融為一體，這也是董重一個重要的超現(xiàn)實主義的變化。但這不是一個純粹的形象實驗，董重實際上跳出了傳統(tǒng)繪畫在一個單一層面上的關(guān)系，而是將自我和形式多重地組織在一個畫面上，比如欲望、平面性、裝飾主義、文人性以及原始主義。這就使繪畫又產(chǎn)生了一種新的可能性。
