“支流一”
在巫山，壓土機(jī)不停的在路上運(yùn)作，快速的鋪路，拉近了偏遠(yuǎn)的距離，山坡變成了平地。從山上挖來的土可以填出更多的土地和加固河堤，最終，長江三峽庫區(qū)的水位預(yù)期將升到一百七十五米。由此，將淹沒所有的低處的村落，包括曾經(jīng)存在過的和現(xiàn)在在河岸的設(shè)施。
新建的生活新區(qū)代替了消失的老區(qū)，建筑一個混泥土結(jié)構(gòu)的河堤，保護(hù)著新城區(qū)的公寓和高樓大廈免受河水的侵蝕。
萬州和巫山曾目睹了巨大的變遷，三峽大壩改造了當(dāng)?shù)氐奈锢砗蜕鐣h(huán)境，。如水位上升，在最近幾年中人口的急劇增加。迅速發(fā)展，改變了當(dāng)?shù)亟?jīng)濟(jì)，從而使當(dāng)?shù)厣鐓^(qū)生計受到影響，好處是明顯可見的。問題是他們付出了怎樣的代價 。
“支流一”是我工作的延續(xù)，我已于數(shù)年前就來到庫區(qū)。主要的題目為：“一河分為三個部分 ”開始作為一個攝影的探索，記錄在一個較長時期內(nèi)的文獻(xiàn)變化?，F(xiàn)在，我繼續(xù)我的攝影，逐漸地納入其他媒體，它們構(gòu)成了一個總體項目的有機(jī)組成部分。
此次萬州和巫山之行，難以解除情緒上的影響是最近發(fā)生在四川的08.05.12地震 。作為一個結(jié)果，經(jīng)驗的痕跡是顯而易見的。

Tributary 1.
In Wushan, heavy machinery continues to pound the roads, paving development, and making access to the once remote location by land much easier. Nearby hillsides are being leveled too. It,s earth being used for landfills, reshaping the riverbank, as eventually the waters in Yangzi river reservoir area will rise to the expected 175 m level. In doing so it will erase all physical traces of what once existed and currently exists on the riverbank. The old town has long disappeared, covered-up by a blanket of concrete, protecting the towering apartment blocks of the new town from eroding into river.
Wanzhou and Wushan have witnessed dramatic changes to their physical and social environment as a result of the Three Gorges Dam. Like the rising water level their populations have dramatically increase in recent years. The rapid development of these locations bringing with it a change to the local economies and thus affecting the livelihoods of the local communities, and for some the benefits are clearly tangible. The question is at what cost.
"Tributary 1" extends the work I have made for several years in the reservoir area. The main project, titled, "A River in Three Parts" began as a photographic exploration to document the changes over an extended period of time. The photographic research continues, however, the possibility of incorporating other mediums has always been an integral element to the overall development of the project.
During the research trip to Wanzhou and Wushan it was difficult to disassociate from the emotional impact of the recent earthquake in Sichuan on 12.5.08. And as a result, traces of that experience are evident.
