MD畫(huà)廊的負(fù)責(zé)人Magda Danysz女士
2012年12月8日，下午5:30，上海MD畫(huà)廊舉辦《Fred Eerdekens個(gè)展——絲之影》隆重開(kāi)幕。開(kāi)幕式現(xiàn)場(chǎng)，99藝術(shù)網(wǎng)采訪了MD畫(huà)廊的負(fù)責(zé)人Magda Danysz女士，以下是采訪相關(guān)內(nèi)容。
99: Is it the first time for MD Gallery to work with the artist Fred? Please tell me stories about the gallery operation, and how you find Fred.
MD: We are lucky enough to have Fred in China for the first time. This is his first solo show in Shanghai, though he is already famous in the U.S. and Europe. Our story between the gallery and the artist goes back to a long time ago. There was a very moving story behind our cooperation. In fact, we’ve known each other for more than 8 years. Back then, I contacted him to say ‘I love your work, maybe we can do something.’ But I never got an answer. 2 years ago, someone who worked with him called, and said to me ‘you sent an email 8 years ago, but there was no news after. Fred had a motorcycle accident back then. He’s okay now, and he remembered. He wants to meet you.’ So it took a long time for us to meet. When he woke up from the accident, he remembered that he had to meet me. I think that’s destiny.
99藝術(shù)網(wǎng)：是怎樣的契機(jī)促成MD畫(huà)廊和藝術(shù)家Fred合作？
MD：我們很榮幸舉辦了Fred在中國(guó)的首個(gè)展覽。他在美國(guó)和歐洲國(guó)家已經(jīng)非常知名了，而在上海辦個(gè)展還是第一次。說(shuō)起Fred和MD畫(huà)廊的故事，要追溯到很久以前了。我們這次合作的背后其實(shí)有個(gè)很感人的故事情節(jié)。其實(shí)我們知道彼此已經(jīng)有超過(guò)8年了。多年前我給他發(fā)過(guò)一個(gè)email，說(shuō)我很欣賞您的作品，希望能有合作的機(jī)會(huì)。但從未收到答復(fù)。大約2年前，我收到他助理的來(lái)電，告訴我8年前曾收到過(guò)我的email，但Fred遭遇了一場(chǎng)摩托車(chē)車(chē)禍而遲遲沒(méi)有回復(fù)?，F(xiàn)在他已完全康復(fù)，并記起了我的去信，要和我見(jiàn)面。然后才有了我們久違的約見(jiàn)。當(dāng)他從車(chē)禍中醒來(lái)后，他仍然記得要見(jiàn)我——我想這就是命運(yùn)吧。
99: What’s your idea about Fred’s artwork?
MD: The idea what appealed to me in Fred’s artwork, if to sum it up in one word, is Magic. It’s a magic because we don’t know how it was done. First, everybody was like ‘oh… what is it?’ You’re surprised, so you go look for the source. It’s like magic because it’s poetic, and most importantly, very simple. In our world where everything gets so fast and complicated, when you take time to look, and to understand something simple---it is magical.
99藝術(shù)網(wǎng)：對(duì)于Ferd作品您有怎樣的評(píng)價(jià)？
MD：Fred的作品之所以深深吸引了我，是因?yàn)樗鼈兿衲g(shù)。我們無(wú)法解釋他的作品是怎么做出來(lái)的。人們對(duì)Fred的作品的第一反應(yīng)往往是“這到底是怎么回事？”它出乎你的意料之外，讓你想弄明白其中的奧秘；它們像擁有魔力一般，極具詩(shī)意，卻又那么簡(jiǎn)單。在高速發(fā)展、紛繁復(fù)雜的當(dāng)今社會(huì)里，當(dāng)你花些時(shí)間去觀察和理解這些簡(jiǎn)單的事物，會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)這是一個(gè)具有魔法色彩的過(guò)程。
99: Promoting only foreign artists?
MD: The idea of the gallery here is to have half Chinese artists and half foreign artists, in order to promote a dialogue, and to have a mixed inspiration between the East and the West. For instance, when a elgium artist like Fred come to China, he ended up doing his first artwork in Chinese. This is what I love. It means that he got to like and understand China. It’s the same for all the artists we try to bring here. I want them to react, and to really get to love Shanghai, as I do.
99藝術(shù)網(wǎng)：MD主推國(guó)外藝術(shù)家嗎？在這方面有怎樣的考慮？
MD：與MD畫(huà)廊合作的藝術(shù)家里，中國(guó)藝術(shù)家和外國(guó)藝術(shù)家的比率對(duì)半分。我們想要鼓勵(lì)中西方藝術(shù)圈的對(duì)話，促成多元文化的互相啟迪。比方說(shuō)，當(dāng)我們把來(lái)自比利時(shí)的藝術(shù)家Fred帶到中國(guó)以后，他在作品中首次加入了中文元素。這是我非常愿意看到的。這說(shuō)明他在來(lái)了中國(guó)以后，開(kāi)始喜歡和了解這里了。我們帶來(lái)的其他藝術(shù)家亦是如此。我希望我?guī)?lái)的藝術(shù)家能和上?；?dòng)，并和我一樣，愛(ài)上這里。
99: Who are the customers? Mainly foreigners? What’s your opinions on the art market in China?
MD: On the art market, we’re very lucky here in China to have both international and Chinese local collectors. For the moment, the global art market and the art market in China are slightly different. In Chinese art market, people discover things, still have to learn a lot about the techniques, edition, the genuine aspect of the art works… but the good thing is that they love the art and the culture. So everyone in the end, they meet around this common point---the love of art.
99藝術(shù)網(wǎng)：MD畫(huà)廊在中國(guó)和巴黎都有空間，那么MD的主要的客戶群還是在國(guó)外的嗎？對(duì)于中國(guó)的藝術(shù)市場(chǎng)您有怎樣的看法？
MD：從市場(chǎng)的角度來(lái)說(shuō)，非常幸運(yùn)，在中國(guó)我們能夠兼有國(guó)際藏家和中國(guó)當(dāng)?shù)夭丶摇．?dāng)下，國(guó)際藝術(shù)市場(chǎng)和中國(guó)藝術(shù)市場(chǎng)還是有些不同的。在中國(guó)藝術(shù)市場(chǎng)里，藝術(shù)愛(ài)好者們還探索過(guò)程中，仍然需要在技術(shù)、版次等各方面，更深入了解藝術(shù)品。然而，值得慶幸的是，人們對(duì)藝術(shù)和文化的熱愛(ài)始終是等同的。
