Nan Luo Gu Xiang is an 800 year-old Old Beijing alley way, or what commonly known as “Hutong”. It was once the most prosperous and popular commercial street in Yuan Dynasty and nowadays, the
intriguing juxtaposition of old and new Beijing where you can find in this buzzing hutong attracts locals and foreigners alike.
NLGX is centrally located in Nan Luo Gu Xiang. Three entrepreneurs Ed, Michel and Ray witnessed the drastic changes that occurred in Beijing when the city was shaping up for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. They captured, with their own unique vision, the ever-changing Beijing during this particular time of growth. At the lecture they will not only share with us their recordings but also their experience living and working Beijing as Overseas born Chinese.

Towards the end of 2009 Today Art Museum proudly held “Design in China ” exhibition. We have invited some of the participating designer to come and have a chat with us.
Looking at their work, we can see that interior design could be seen as our understanding of ‘home’, or it could be romantic and cozy shelter, or simply a temporary dwelling. Design, coming from China’s tradition, transcends to a a piece of cloud, a flower, a poem, or simple blessing.
Liu Feng, Mao Na and Ye Yuxuan come from different background and upbringing. They vast experiences have inspired them in very unique ways. It will be a great place for them to cross path and speak about their passion.
