Faurschou畫廊于1986年由Luise Faurschou女士與Jens Faurschou先生建立于丹麥?zhǔn)锥几绫竟?007年11月24日Faurschou畫廊在中國北京的798藝術(shù)區(qū)開設(shè)了其1000多平方米的新館。新畫廊的名字取自Faurschou的中文釋義:"林冠"。
林冠畫廊(Faurschou Beijing)的開幕展覽為美國著名的波普藝術(shù)家羅伯特·勞森伯格(Robert Rauschenberg)的個展。這也是勞森伯格自1985年在中國美術(shù)館舉辦其在中國的首次個展之后的第二次個展。
畫廊自誕生之日起就已經(jīng)開始致力于以國際最高的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)來展示與推廣藝術(shù)作品。一直信守著這樣一種最高標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的許諾是Faurschou畫廊最為顯著的特點。??

擔(dān)任林冠畫廊藝術(shù)總監(jiān)職務(wù)的分別是來自中國的曠衛(wèi)先生和來自德國的Kai Heinze先生,曠衛(wèi)先生有著15年的在丹麥工作和生活的經(jīng)歷,曾任教于丹麥設(shè)計學(xué)院并擔(dān)任其項目經(jīng)理多年。Kai Heinze先生曾在柏林技術(shù)大學(xué)、倫敦蘇富比藝術(shù)機構(gòu)以及紐約Hunter學(xué)院學(xué)習(xí)藝術(shù)史專業(yè),并曾在紐約的Leo Koenig畫廊擔(dān)任過5年的藝術(shù)總監(jiān)職位。 ??曠衛(wèi)先生與Kai Heinze先生將與林冠畫廊的其他職員們共同努力,為來自亞洲地區(qū)以及全世界的藝術(shù)家、博物館和收藏家們提供最為專業(yè)與高質(zhì)量的服務(wù)。

Faurschou's new gallery is located in Beijing's 798 Art District, the most significant gallery area and the most cosmopolitan part of Beijing. Recently, this area, which had previously housed the military's electronic factories has now been transformed into a culturally vibrant area with both Chinese and international galleries, private museums, designer shops, fashion boutiques, cafés and restaurants.Beijing is currently characterised by a strong atmosphere of creative activity and cultural enthusiasm. China's gradual opening towards the West, its economies and cultures, has gained considerable clout and momentum. Concurrent with this development, the result has been an increase in wealth in the Chinese society and a greater interest for both art and culture. Internationally, new and interesting Chinese artists have made themselves known, as has the art scene in the largest Chinese cities, where many new museums and newly opened galleries are satisfying the continually growing audience interested in art.??

The gallery's operations are concentrated in a multitude of areas. It focuses on modernist masterworks made by artists such as, Edvard Munch, Pablo Picasso and Asger Jorn. In its contemporary programme the gallery represents: Erik A. Frandsen, Michael Kvium, Christian Lemmerz, Bjarne Melgaard, Nina Sten-Knudsen, Michael Bevilacqua, Erik Parker and Tom Sanford. Faurschou Beijing will be presenting a programme of high quality art works of internationally acclaimed artists from Europe, Asia and USA. Characteristical of Faurschou is a programme of both Modern and Contemporary art.??The inaugural show in Faurschou Beijing will be by Robert Rauschenberg, his first soloshow in China since 1985. The show will be presenting new works and highlights from the last three decades.??
Kai Heinze and Wei Kuang are appointed Directors of Faurschou Beijing and together with the gallery's additional staff they will ensure and provide Faurschou's high quality service towards the gallery artists, museums and collectors alike, in Asia and abroad. Kai Heinze, who has studied art history at the Technical University Berlin, Sotheby's Institute of Art, London, and Hunter College, New York, comes from a position as Director over the past five years at Leo Koenig Gallery, New York. Wei Kuang has a military education combined with an education from the Art Academy in Beijing. Wei Kuang has lived over the past 15 years in Denmark, and has worked as project manager and teacher at the School of Design in Kolding, Denmark.??
