在中國當代藝術史中，王廣義毫無疑問是非常重要的藝術家，他對地緣政治與文化的態(tài)度，也是讓我們大家無法回避的。在這種特殊政治與文化的核心意義下，在我們這個泛政治化早已深入人心的社會中，他把握住了這個時代社會深層次的精髓。在今天的生活中，我們真正消費的并不僅僅是物質，也不僅僅是圖像與歷史，更多的是中國社會49年以來特有的政治遺產(chǎn)，這種特殊的政治消費才是真正全民性的消費，它幾乎不分年齡與階層，完全是另一種深入人心的永遠的文化與話題。王廣義正好準確地把這種全民性的地緣政治消費文化轉化在他的作品之中，他作品中的隱喻意義遠遠超過形式及表達方式本身。

這次的展覽，我們想從另外一個角度對王廣義進行分析和理解。王廣義是一個烏托邦主義者，從早期的作品《凝固的北方極地》我們看到來自西方古典繪畫的影響，又有著對北方地域特有的情愫。在王廣義看來，北方是他創(chuàng)作的生命所在，北方極地的場景使我們想到人類與自然的原初形態(tài)。他筆下的人物并非具體的人，他們是一種象征，一種虔誠精神的象征。這種隱喻的表達方式在《儀式》這組作品里又重新進行詮釋，藉由這種儀式感的畫面語言構成，來給自己一種強烈的自我暗示。這種自我暗示能夠轉化，幫助我們準備好走入另一種空間、時間和角色里。

在王廣義的作品里一直都很關注圖片的寓意，他有意的去破壞和篡改著歷史，放棄對古典與傳統(tǒng)的恭敬之心，通過這種戲謔的方式進行他的主觀闡述，漸漸脫離了來自地域文化的影響，轉而走向一個更遼闊的文化與社會價值體系。《受傷的風景》這個系列亦有著對權力的反抗意識，無論是凡爾賽宮還是圓明園，王廣義用一種文化的侵略方式人為的破壞著這些圖片，讓它看起來傷痕累累，建筑圖片完美的標準對稱結構被打破。作為一位藝術家，自身的力量和存在感在此也顯得極為脆弱和無奈。

這次展覽的部分裝置作品，將我們最熟悉的東西轉變性質，幾千個溫度計被陳列在展廳里，這個溫度的產(chǎn)生是當下的，它會隨著地域而變化。正如王廣義的作品一直在陳述當代歷史所發(fā)生的變化，他對當下提出問題敏感犀利。我希望王廣義的展覽為大家所呈現(xiàn)的是一個新的面貌，能夠讓我們更深地理解王廣義的視覺政治。
